The House of Solidarity is pleased to announce Community Self-Defense: a series of workshops and skill-shares coming this spring and summer.
WildCoast and our allies Anti-Racist Action, Warrior Sisters and Women Fight Back are presenting a diverse program featuring non-violence workshops, discussions about eco-defense and eco-feminism, and martial arts training.
We're raising funds to sponsor the trainers' travel costs and for the venue, food, insurance, and materials.

Workshop proposals are now open! Proposals so far include:
- Community self-defence: Strategies to take and hold space, marshal crowds, repel and evade aggressors, and protect each other.
- Non-violent civil disobedience
- Land defense: Strategies for stopping pipelines, challenging destructive developers, and grassroots organizing.
- Eco-feminism and indigenous solidarity
- Anti-Racist Action: Challenging patriarchy and white supremacy.
- Martial arts training with Women Fight Back

About the House of Solidarity
For the first time in our nine years, WildCoast has a dedicated office and volunteer space on southern Vancouver Island for all of its projects plus some new ones! We have room to expand - which is crucial at a time when environmental defense is growing on the coast.
We're responding to community demand for space to organize the Caravan to Unis'tot'en Camp, as well as volunteer trainings, art, benefits, and outreach projects to protect the wild coast.
At a time when other groups are coming apart, WildCoast and VIC FAN are pulling together.
