Colorado Aussie Rescue hasn't added a story.
Tess is going to need funding to be able to do what is needed and make it through her long hard jpourney to become a loved pet for someone. Her story follows and we would like her to get a loving home but without help no one is going to want this puppy the way she is she is not adoptable and she has the most wonderful personality, Here is what happened to her. Mid-summer this year Maggie the Aussie/Huskly mix had six puppies in New Mexico> She was put into a high Kill shelter and was set to die. When Pauline a lady from Undermywing came and pulled her for rescue with her pups. Some of which were in poor shape. The two smallest were having problems walking and the very last pup was not all there , it was very sickly and was not fully developed. So when Colorado Aussie Rescue called to take the dogs to rescue Pauline kept the under developed one back as it would not have survived the trip and nursed it to health. When the puppy was about 14 weeks old Pauline let Colorado Aussie know that she survived and was ready for rescue. Transpoort was arranged and The little unnamed puppy was on her way to rescue in Colorado. She was named Tess by one of our youngest volunteers and her journey began, The first available day she went to see the vet for an analisis of what her leg needed to make her be able to grow and be a healthy dog and comapanion for some luckly adopter. GIllett the vet that she saw made an assesment that the leg could be aputated , but that might not be what was in the best interest of this little puppy. He made a few phone calls and the next thing we knew we are on our way to see an ortho vet to see about a Prothetic leg for her to learn to use, Her leg may not have to be amputated it they can fit one to the damaged leg. Our hopes are high and money is what is holding us back. She will have to have temporary legs to learn on while she is growing and then a permenant one when she is done. With many doctor appointments and therapy for her other legs so they will be strong enough, It will be several weeks or months of visits and Several thousand dollars. We can use all of the hope and support we can gather. We hope that an adopter will step up to bond with her through this process and her life will be stable so that she can catch up and become a great companion. As of today she has a fosterhome that will keep her through all of this and manage her medical visits and therapy. WE have a base cost to start treatment at $3000.00 dollars and we will also be in need of supplies, Her fosters will be keeping all of her suporters posted with her very own face book page. All donations big or small mean a lot to us and we will also take donations of needed items. Most impartant of all if this pup doesn ot get these things and surgery or a leg, our hopes of ever finding her a loving home are slim to none so you can be a part of helping this baby become whole and get a forever home. She has many months ahead of her of both painful and joyful moments to go through and the faster the money is raised theeasier it will be for us to help her and her to get better.
