Sponsorships for the Nash County Animal Control Shelter pets are managed by Promoting Animal Welfare in NC (PAWNC), a 501c3 charity, working in partnership with Nash County Animal Friends (NCAF).
RESCUE SPONSORSHIPS: All received funds will be used for the required or needed vetting of the pet prior to rescue or adoption, with the remaining funds sent to the Rescue for the continued care of the pet.
ADOPTION SPONSORSHIPS: Sponsorship of spay or neuter will be offered when there are sufficient donations. Anything over the spay/neuter Sponsorship may be used to do additional needed vetting of the pet or for the Pay-It-Forward Sponsorships. If the Sponsorship does not reach enough for the spay/neuter, if there is sufficient funding in the Pay-It-Forward Sponsorship funds, then it will be offered either prior to or after adoption. We must prevent adopted pets from contributing to the overpopulation problems!
PAY-IT-FORWARD SPONSORSHIPS: If a pet is PTS (not rescued or adopted), then the Sponsorship will used for the Pay-It-Forward Sponsorships. If all of the Adoption Sponsorship is not needed, it will used for the Pay-It-Forward Sponsorships to keep pets OUT of the Shelter! Including the Adoption Sponsorship for those pets whose donations may not reach sufficient funding. Or in the case of dumped babies at the Shelter, Sponsorships may be used to get their mothers fixed (FIX MOM Program). Most of the time, the mothers are kept and they will continue the cycle. Spay and Neuter is the key!
RESCUES: To claim Sponsorships, please notify NCAF or PAWNC prior to rescue. All proceeds, less the FundRazr/PayPal fees will be use for the specific pet for required/needed vetting with the remainder forwarded to the approved Rescue that rescues. In some cases, such as Independent Rescuers, funds will go direct to the vet! THANKS for wanting to save this pet!
