Sponsorships for the Nash County Animal Control Shelter pets are managed by Promoting Animal Welfare in NC (PAWNC), a 501c3 charity. PAWNC works in partnership with Nash County Animal Friends (NCAF).
RESCUE SPONSORSHIPS: All funds will either go direct to the Rescue or be used for the required/needed vetting of the pet prior to transport, with the remaining funds sent to the Rescue.
ADOPTION SPONSORSHIPS: PAWNC will set up the Adoption Sponsorships w/spay or neuter when the pet’s donations reach enough to pay for that. Anything over the spay/neuter Sponsorship will be used to do additional vetting for the pet or for the Pay-It-Forward Sponsorships.
PAY-IT-FORWARD SPONSORSHIPS: If a pet is PTS (not rescued or adopted), then the Sponsorship will used for the Pay-It-Forward Sponsorships. If all of the Adoption Sponsorship is not needed, it will used for the Pay-It-Forward Sponsorships. PAWNC will use it to help with the Adoption Sponsorship for those pets whose donations may not reach sufficient funding. In the case of dumped babies at the Shelter, Pay-It-Forward Sponsorships will be used to get their mothers fixed (FIX MOM Program). Most of the time, the mothers are kept and they will continue the cycle. The Pay-It-Forward Sponsorships keeps pets OUT of the Shelter!
RESCUES: To claim Sponsorships, please notify NCAF or PAWNC prior to rescue. All proceeds, less the FundRazr/PayPal fees will be forwarded to the approved Rescue that rescues. In some cases, such as Independent Rescuers, funds will go direct to the vet! THANKS for wanting to save this pet!
