Help keep our studio alive!
Amidst funding precarity and escalating operating costs, we are at risk of losing our studio.
We are making a call for community support! Please help us bridge the gap, while we continue our efforts towards funding stability.
TERRARIUM STUDIO: Home of the
Earth
Punk Collective
and
Cue Art Projects
In this moment of collective rage and uncertainty, we call on our community and allies to support us in our fight to keep Terrarium alive!
Earth Punks Zanette Singh, Eli Howey and Kikeyah Chavez co-run Terrarium Studio under the leadership of CUE. Terrarium is a muti-use space created as a direct response to the increasing erasure and marginalization of 2SQTI-BIPOC voices.
We built a scrappy, DIY, artist-led studio from the ground up in a city that feels like it’s trying to price us out of existence. We believe it important to have a shared resource so that artists aren't pressured to exist as solo-entrepreneurial capitalist agents, but rather enter a shared studio with artists committed to sharing resources such as space, equipment, skills and networks.
Our studio is not just the home of the collective, but a place where we support artists in building and sustaining meaningful creative practices. In an era of increased public hostility toward the trans community, Terrarium is a dedicated space for 2SQTI-BIPOC artists and musicians to sustain their creative practice, share their voices, and simply exist without apology.
Terrarium and its EARTH PUNKS are looking forward to another year of events and programming to build on the momentum of Moving Spirit, our studio live music shows and programming. We are working tirelessly on a very special year of new exhibitions, live music events and community gatherings. We would love for you to help us make this all happen :)
About Our Initiative
Terrarium was founded in 2024 by Cue Art Projects. This responsive, artist-led project carries forward CUE’s legacy of building alternative supports for artists on the margins. Zanette Singh and Jason Samilski co-founded CUE Art Projects in 2008, a multi-award-winning initiative providing high-access funding models for marginalized, new-generation artists. CUE has since served as the 'first art grant' for thousands of low income/working class, disabled, QT-BIPOC artists across the GTA, many of whom have leveraged this support into thriving professional careers. Terrarium Studio is now home to CUE’s programming, including the studio's flagship program Terrarium Artist Residency. Learn more about Terrarium programming Here
