Over 400 million sub-Saharan Africans live below the poverty line and are unable to access safe, comfortable, and sustainable homes. Housing prices are too high and the methods used are unsustainable and damage the environment. 

Phioneers was founded to improve the quality of life for all through sustainable engineering and technology.

Our first contribution to the World is DWLBL (Dwellable), and we are developing a low-cost eco-friendly housing solution that will create a circular economy where homes will be built from sustainably sourced local materials, by local builders and be affordable to the many who are living below the poverty line. We will construct in a way that is harmonious with the environment, bringing together three fundamentals; environmental, economic, and social sustainability. 

We are excited to share with you that we have reached a significant milestone by taking something that was just an idea to the point where we have completed our research and designs and are ready to build our first DWLBL home in The Gambia (West Africa) in Q1 2024. We have land available.

This has been a challenging, enlightening, and fulfilling journey so far and we are excited about seeing underprivileged families move into more comfortable and resilient dwellings real soon.

Thanks to our amazing team, advisors, mentors, and partners, we have come this far, and with your SUPPORT, we can achieve our goal of sending our team out to the Gambia to build our first home in October 2022.

The money will go towards:

1. Mobilisation of our engineering team to train our local team and supervise the first prototype build - 20%
2. Architectural design fees - 15%
3. Purchasing initial machinery - 10%
4. Local material sourcing, labour, and testing - 50 %
5. Filming and documenting the build process - 5%

All supporters, no matter how much they've contributed, will have their names added to a GRATITUDE PLAQUE that we will hang on the living room wall of our first ever DWLBL home (with their consent of course ;) )

Our plans go beyond just building units. We have masterplans connecting up to 24 units with sustainable water and energy supplies, shared social spaces, schools, clinics, gardens, and access roads. Our first DWLBL community!
