When I founded Apollo’s Pals I had a vision of a safe place, where dogs with behavioral issues could come, be rehabilitated, and then rehomed. Apollos’s Pals has a high rehoming success rate because we carefully match the dog with right person/family. Dogs stay with us as long as as necessary, until they are ready for their forever home. PUMPKIN, one of my favorite dogs, is a good example. I worked with Pumpkin for almost one year before he was ready for his forever home. He was super aggressive, wanting to fight with every dog he saw. Even hearing a dog bark would drive him nuts! Where is PUMPKIN today? In a great home getting lots of love!
CORONA is a dog we rescued minutes before she was going to be euthanized. Corona tried to attack any person who came near her. When she first came to Apollo’s Pals, she cried for hours because she was so sad. Today, Corona is doing wonderfully and I love her with all my heart.
I want to continue to help animals, but I have exhausted my savings building this rescue for dogs. Our new property is a gift from God; five beautiful acres! including a restaurant that has been closed for 12 years. We will reopen the restaurant to generate income for the rescue and create local jobs!
THINGS WE NEED TO MAKE OUR RESCUE DREAM COME TRUE: fencing for play yards, runs, training areas; a building for medical dogs, moms, and pups. We need funds for everyday expenses such as food, vet care, flea and tick meds, heartworm medication, toys, blankets, electric, water, and much more
Apollo’s Pals also needs items to get the restaurant ready for business such as purchasing a license, new flooring, paint, food and drink to serve, money for labor.
Please donate whatever you can, every $1 helps! If you cannot donate money, volunteer your time. We need help walking, feeding, cleaning, networking and fundraising. Help any way you can! These dogs are depending on all of us. Without us, they would not be alive today. Thank you!
A bit of my history with dogs: Since I was five years old I knew I wanted to work with animals. When I was eight, my dad took me to get a doberman pincher, Rowdie, and I fell in love right away! We went to puppy training and that was when I first understood I had a knack for training dogs. Years later, I became certified as a dog trainer. I primarily work with dogs who have behavior problems; I understand them and can teach them to redirect their behaviors. Dogs learn much in the same way as children do, so I use games to teach and redirect negative behaviors. This is called game theory training. I love dogs, I love all my rescue dogs, and wish to help so many more, with your help! Thank you
