The Hall of Flame People's Choice winner has chosen Kid Sport Vancouver as her charity in the Donation Challenge. Participation in sports is so beneficial that "I can't imagine a child sitting at home because they were unable to pay a registration fee.” More ...

Katrina is the People’s Choice firefighter.

She has chosen Kidsport Vancouver as her charity in the first-ever Hall of Flame Donation Challenge.

“ I feel that participation in sports is an important aspect of a child's development,” Katrina says. “Sports give children the opportunity to build their self-confidence and provide them with a sense of belonging. It also promotes healthy living, which hopefully they will carry with them into adulthood. I can't imagine a child sitting at home because they were unable to pay a registration fee.”

Katrina is 32 years old and has been a firefighter for two years. She works for the Vancouver Fire Department.

Half the money she raises in this crowdfunding campaign will be donated to KidSport Vancouver. The other half goes to the Vancouver Firefighters’ Charitable Society, which will donate the money to traditional Hall of Flame Calendar beneficiaries such as the BC Children's Hospital, the Burn Fund and the CKNW Orphans Fund. You will be issued an official charitable donation tax receipt.

However, if you help Katrina win the Donation Challenge, all the money she raises will go to KidSport Vancouver.

You can also help by sharing a link to this campaign with your friends and on social media. It’s easy: when you make a donation, you will be asked if you want to share a message about why you donated to Katrina’s charity on Facebook and other social media sites. Please say yes and help a child play sports!
