We have eight sick puppies in various stages of treatment, only two of which reached their initial fundraising goal assuming that they were healthy. Four have received treatment and are in what the vet feels is full recovery from a stomach virus ... More ...

The seven remaining puppies have recovered from the virus and are doing pretty well except for two that have developed a skin condition over the holiday. They will be taken to vet on Monday, we are guessing it's either a bacterial skin infection or have developed demodex mange. We had eight sick puppies that went through varying levels of treatment for the virus based on how the virus affected each puppy. Only two of the puppies reached their initial fundraising goal (and that was based on them being healthy). Four received treatment and are fully recovered from a 48 hour stomach virus (the parvo tests have been negative) but one, pictured above (Tanner) was in critical condition. He was admitted to the hospital and his condition was far worse than the others. Upon initial exam, five days prior to the hospitalization, Tanner was found to have what the vet felt was roped intestines. This ended up being the most likely cause of his quick deterioration. His foster mom is absolutely devastated over Tanners passing, please keep her in your thoughts during this difficult time. Despite the best efforts of the caring staff at the hospital Tanner did not make it. A total of 6 puppies became noticeably ill. They have all recovered are doing very well thanks to the diligent care of their foster mom and Dr. Wendy King. They were put on a prescription diet that they are finishing as they transition back to a normal diet. It was a very sad and precarious situation, we need your help to cover part of the treatment costs incurred to save these pups so that they can go north to find their forever homes once they are well. They will be going north at the end of July but we need your help to finish filling this fundrazr so that we are able to cover their costs so that we can save new puppies and dogs in need. We have been operating at a major loss but we will continue in our mission to save dogs and puppies at high risk of euthanasia. Please consider donating or sharing today. Thank you!
