What if…a kid could ‘just be a kid’, even if they can’t see?

Being blind or partially sighted can be a challenge to ‘just being a kid’.  But it doesn’t have to be. At the CNIB Lake Joe Camp, kids with impaired vision go swimming, waterskiing, body-boarding, and even sailing. Most importantly, campers have life changing experiences, learn new skills and develop confidence to help them overcome daily challenges. Check out our video to see how the magic happens!

To ensure a fun and safe environment, CNIB raises funds to upgrade the Camp’s facilities to provide the customized support required for kids that are blind or partially sighted. An area that requires upgrading is the chairs used at the campfire, beach or just about anywhere at the camp. We are raising funds to replace 50 wooden chairs with new composite chairs that are safer, more sustainable and made of recycled materials.

In partnership with Deloitte, CNIB needs your help to bring all 50 chairs to Lake Joe, in 2 ways:

  1.  Click on “Donate” and contribute to help us reach our goal. Tax receipts will  be issued to donors directly by CNIB
  2.  Share the link to this campaign with your family and friends to help spread the word

Together through this campaign we can make a difference in the lives of kids with vision loss!

"My favourite thing about CNIB is called Lake Joe. At my day camp, I met my best friend, and my best friend is totally blind like me. I got to try new things I never got to try before - I went bodyboarding, I went tubing with my brother Ben, I went in the water a lot."- Julia, Age 11

Indian River Trading Company has donated the assembly, delivery and transportation of the chairs. For more information please contact

CRP Products has donated the chairs at cost  - a special thanks to these supporters!
