Hi, my name is Allie and I was rescued from Alligator Harbor where I was found floating sick and weak. Some clam farmers found me in Alligator Harbor and contacted Jack Rudloe of Gulf Specimen Marine Lab, Panacea, Florida. Jack came to my rescue. The lab has taken care of my medical needs, made sure I have the proper diet and plenty of exercise (love those yummy crabs and it is fun chasing them) all of which are important in helping me reach my goal of returning home. The best thing is that I have had a chance to meet all the nice people who come to see me. The visitors have had a chance to learn about sea turtles and what is important for us to thrive and live a long life. People need to understand that something as simple as a floating plastic bag can be a threat to me. I am a 50 years old loggerhead turtle who could live up to a 100. For turtles to have a chance to grow up, our nesting areas and habitat need to be protected. Please contribute so that Gulf Specimen Marine Lab can continue to provide rehab to injured and sick turtles like me. Your contributions will also help educate people on why protecting the environment is important to sea creatures like me. Your Friend, Allie
