On October 17th, I'll be participating in the Tunnel to Towers 5K in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation holds a special meaning for me. Like many Americans, 9/11 is a defining moment of my adult life. I remember what life was like before that day, and I've lived through everything that came after it.
The foundation honors the sacrifice and service of our nation's first responders, military members, and veterans. Their mission continues the legacy of courage and selflessness that was demonstrated on September 11, 2001.
Normally, my company supports the Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb in Tampa, but because I'm working out of town this year, I won't be able to participate in that event. Instead, I'll be representing from Tennessee by taking part in the Hendersonville 5K.
This event is also personal for another reason. Earlier this year, I committed to improving my health and set a goal of completing a 5K. On October 17th, I'll be achieving that goal while supporting a cause I deeply believe in.
