A dog named Bear.
Bear was found dumped in the forest, abandoned by his owners, and left to die. Bear is completely blind. He had painful ulcerated eyes, malnourished and too weak to walk - who ever left him knew his fate.
Thankfully, Bear was found and rushed to the vets. This is where the survival story began! We were heartbroken over his condition - this poor boy had suffered so much. But Bear made it very clear - he wanted to live. He ate like a horse, listened intently to what was going on around him, and it wasn't long before his tail started to wag. He is an older boy, was probably a family pet until it was decided he was no longer welcome. Bear had a lengthy stay at the Vets - to build him up, start his Leishmanias treatment, and get him stable. Then he joined the most incredible Foster home - where he quickly settled into a daily routine and flourished under their love and support ❤️
Since then, this poor boy has needed several further vet stays - due to ongoing health issues, we also needed to remove both his eyes to relive him from his pain and discomfort.
Fast forever to today, and just look at this glorious boy! Bear is just a gentle and loving boy who is enjoying life, pain-free, and loved. He is in a permanent Foster- which means he is home ❤️ but will stay under our care, and we will support his medical needs.
Bears vet bill totals over €1000 over the past 6 months. This is where we need your help, to allow us to keep supporting him, and any other dog that comes into our care that needs our help.
