World Action Fund a local NGO in Uganda plans to implement the proposed activities on violence against children project for a period 2 years,.

Much war and violence against children is un-reported and un-recorded. They remain hidden for many reasons. One is fear: many children are afraid to report incidents of violence against them. Social acceptance of violence is another factor. War and Violence is also invisible because there are no safe or trusted ways for children or adults to report it.

No matter its cultural, economic or social background, every society, can and must stop violence against children. This does not mean sanctioning perpetrators only, but requires transformation of the “mindset” of societies and the underlying economic and social conditions associated with violence.

This money will be used for the following activities:

Activities

The following are the project proposed activities.

1. Sensitization and Awareness creation on issues pertaining to children violence: this will cover the different types of violence affecting children which includes emotional, physical and economical.
2. Supporting platforms for holding forums aimed at bringing all the stakeholders to a uniform and unanimous decision on the implementation of the project and defining clear roles in the advocacy ,communication and support for the  program;
3. The second one will involve both the parents ,government officials and children,this will involve the parent teachers association, government officials and the second one will involve both the Parents Teachers Assocation ,government officials and children rights actvisits
4. Assisting and supporting in the formation of school pupils discussion clubs aimed at enhancing and communicating the Issues related to this cause
5. Capacity building, training and empowerment of all relevant stakeholders on development and implementation of school protection policy.
6. Working with and supporting the media platforms and mobile phone service providers in creating awareness and advocacy at all local, national and regional levels
7. Planning, supporting and implementing awareness creation campaign and advocating for policies aimed at ending war and violence in the district and refugee camps in Uganda
8. Support in the establishment of new and improve any existing child-friendly reporting centers
9. Train, equip and capacity build community monitors tasked with a responsibility of reporting abuse related cases in the most efficient and effective way
10. Support and strengthen the justice system to develop a more child-friendly way of solving cause related cases in the district in the most transparent and accountable manner
11. Involve, support and capacity build the police in receiving and effectively acting on the cases related to cause

This project will definately, reduce and create awareness in these comunities refugee settlements and schools, and government and stakeholders will appreciate.
