Indigenous women are leading the pushback against destructive development on their land. At Unis'tot'en Camp, the leaders are taking a stand for the land, the people, and the water - by refusing to let pipeline companies into their territory.

People from all over the world have come to volunteer at this resistance community. We're amazed at the skills of those who are helping to build this beautiful space for the Unist'ot'en Clan and visitors alike.

We're seeking sponsors for the second wing of the wellness centre. The main building is finished except for a woodstove furnace, and  Phase Two begins in the spring.

The Unis’tot’en Clan is re-occupying its territory near Smithers in northern BC, Canada. The camp's log cabin, traditional pit house, bunkhouse and forest permaculture garden stand in the middle of the oil and gas pipeline route to the coast. The campers are blocking the way for two proposed gas pipelines and the Enbridge Northern Gateway tarsands pipeline.

Our volunteers are raising funds to finish the Healing Lodge and sponsor gatherings for everyone in the community, especially elders, women and children who are at risk. Your contributions will provide building supplies as well as meals, dishes, silverware, pots and pans.

We are honoured to support this healing work on Unis'tot'en land. This is the greatest gift: knowing that as long as this Healing Centre stands, no pipelines can be built, and the land and water can be protected.

Freda Huson is the spokesperson for Unis'tot'en clan. She and her chiefs make the decisions on the land their family has stewarded for hundreds of generations. Six years ago, they made the historic decision to draw a line around Unis'tot'en territory and declare it off-limits to tarsands and fracking pipelines.
