Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue hasn't added a story.
Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue needs your help! Over the past year, we are proud to say we have saved and rehomed many, many animals, and not just limited to dogs! While we are proud of our efforts and will continue to work towards our goals, we need your help. Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue, Inc. is survives solely by means of your generosity, we do not receive assistance from the state to save the lives of the animals we save. Please consider making a donation today.
Most of the animals we rescue are from overcrowded and high kill facilities throughout Illinois and surrounding states. All rescued animals are checked by a vet, vaccinated (age appropriate), tested for parasites, bathed and groomed, treated for fleas and spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, etc. prior to being available for adoption.
Wonder about some of our animals? This year we took in a myriad of animals that have needed different levels of care. Here are some animals that needed special care and help:
Herman: Herman was a 13 year old senior english setter. Herman came to us very sick and unfortunately lost his battle due to severe respiratory problems.
Champ: Champ was a 5 month old pit bull who came to us very ill. He wad a prolapsed rectum, demodex, and a staph infection.
Baxter: Baxter, a 9 month old pit bull, had an infected tail that had to be docked.
Hope: A basset and jack russell mix at only 6 months old came to us very ill and unfortnately did not make it through her battle she faught.
Faith: Hope's sister, also came to us with the same illness and and also did not make it through.
Rosco: A handsome shepherd/hound mix, only 3 months old, came to us sick and in need of medical care due to severe respiratory problems and had to be hospitalized.
Bosco: Bosco, Rosco's brother, also had the severe respiratory infection and was hospitalized with his brother.
Max: A handsome 2 year old american bulldog came to us heartworm positive and we helped him fight his battle.
Belle: A stray shih tzu that was blind and deaf found her way to us. She will live with her permanent foster during her last days, but does require extra TLC.
Mr. Wiggles: Our dear Mr. Wiggles was a pug who was surrendered by his owner and he had an ACL tear. During operation, Mr. Wiggles passed away.
Chip: Poor Chip came to us with 3rd degree burns. His medical was lengthy but he was a lucky boy to make it through!
Prada: A chihuahua mix with distemper. This girl was a lucky one who survived and BEAT her distemper, but it was a fight. What a strong girl!
St. Nick - A bulldog at only a few months old came to us with severe neurological issues. He required extensive care to support him in many ways.
MaggieMay: An adoprable beagle came to us heartworm positive and needed treatment to surivive.
Kodiak: Shih tzu baby Kodiak came to us with a liver shunt and had a barbie shoe stuck in his intestines. He needed many surgeries to survive.
Gucci - Gucci, an adorable chihuahua, underwent a cherry eye surgery to ease his pain and help him!
Among these medical cases, we also saved and adopted out many, many healthy animals.
