CorgiPals, Inc. hasn't added a story.
It's time to introduce our latest Helping Paws client! Corgi Mom Jillian wrote to me for help for her sweet Corgi girl Beanie after losing her other Corgi just a few weeks before due to an unknown illness. Suddenly Beanie started having seizures and Jillian (rightfully so) became very worried. Here is Beanie's story in Jillian's words:
"Beanie hasn't been feeling well... she's had diarrhea and this morning the vomiting started. I opted to take her to the emergency vet tonight when she would no longer drink water by herself or eat.. (which is very unlike her, she loves her food.)
I didn't get the best of news at the ER, they told me it could be multiple things but that their main concern was it may be pancreatitis or an infection of the vulva with an estimate of $1500.00. Beanie had an elevated fever and pain in her upper abdomen. I had to choose minimal treatment of pain meds and fluids to get her by for the next 24-48 hours. She was not able to eat for 12 hours because of the pain meds they gave her, she was very drowsy but seemed to be relaxed as much as possible. I chose minimal treatment with the hope that she could be seen first thing Monday morning at her normal vet without the insane prices of an emergency vet. The vet advised me to bring her in right away if she worsened but said that it was possible to keep her comfortable until Monday by treating with a bland diet.
However if she worsens I fear I may have to put her down and I'm doing my darndest to avoid this. She is my best friend and I'd rather have nothing than lose her. I don't want her to suffer either. I want to do what is best for her.
If you are able to help at all so that we can get a diagnosis and get Beanie to feeling better, I know she can beat this, I would be forever grateful. She's a trooper surviving with epilepsy and a rare auto immune disorder, we got her through that, we can get her through this. I am so so thankful for all of your love and support and thank you so much for even considering to donate."
Jillian set up two GoFundMe pages to help Beanie and was able to raise some funds on her own, so Beanie's fundraising goal has been adjusted accordingly. Please share Beanie's story with your friends and family so we can help her figure out a diagnosis and get her the help she needs!
