The annual birthday tradition continues!!
Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly is an incredible
organization. Through LBFE, I met John, my "elder" for 5+
years. John and I were birthday neighbors - I'm March 19th, he's the
20th - with quite a few years in-between. I've been doing a birthday
fundraiser for LBFE for a few years now, but it's taken on a new
meaning since John passed. I fundraise in his honor, for the
organization that meant so much to him (and me).
April will mark one year on the LBFE board for me, and I'm so
proud of the work we've done this year. We've set up peer-to-peer
calls for our elders, sent care packages with masks + hand sanitizer
+ food, pivoted our annual gala to a virtual concert, and grown our
tech allies program to help elders stay connected. We've partnered
with a local SF bakery to send birthday treats. All new, nothing
we've ever done before, in an effort to ensure our elders feel
connected and remembered in this chaotic year. Every phone call I
make to an elder includes an unprompted (and often emotional)
"thank you" for everything LBFE's done this year to make
sure they know they're not alone.
Covid has thrown a wrench into our fundraising plans, but
nothing we can't tackle! In lieu of guest bartending, birthday
concerts, and bake sales, we'll be doing a craft sale. I've taught
myself the art of the loom, and learned to make some cool looking
bracelets - and I have incredibly talented (and generous) friends,
as well! Please note, these are NOT professionally crafted (the wall
weavings especially) - please be forgiving of the flaws, and know
they were made with so much love!

Deeper colors may leave slight color residue in bath tub which is easily wiped away with a washcloth. Safe for normal porcelain or fiberglass; please don't use on light-colored marble. All parts of the bath bomb are biodegradable and can go down the drain! SHOWER FIZZIES: Shower aromatherapy!! Place on the floor of the shower for a lovely aromatherapy experience.
