CorgiPals, Inc. hasn't added a story.
"My husband and I adopted Sammie last March after deciding we wanted a second bundle of joy for our other dog Milo to play with. We adopted Sammie from the humane society and my mother adopted her sister. They found Sammie on the highway in a tunnel. She was a baby and not in good health. Shortly after that we had to get some of her teeth pulled due to the fact she had been hit and abused in her other home or wherever she was before the humane society. A couple of her teeth were broken in half. She is a very sweet gentle puppy. After only two weeks she had already picked up a few training commands. She loves to go to the park and swim in the river but cannot anymore due to her two injuries. Her brother Milo who is a ball of energy is Sammie's pride and joy. Sammie and Milo play, eat and sleep together and cannot stand to be apart. Sammie's first injury happened at the end of October... she has what's called luxating patella in both knees and we did not know before the injury happened. Sammie was playing outside and at the point of her patella luxating her knee was not stable and happened to injure herself at the same time as her patella luxating and that caused her left ACL to tear part way. Her right leg happened about two weeks ago and happened in the yard again and happened due to Sammie putting most of her weight on that right leg. Her right leg was a more severe injury and that is why the vet is wanting to start off with the right leg in a couple weeks. Sammie's right leg has a complete ACL tear as well as a complete meniscus tear. We will be moving on with the right leg surgery using money we needed for bills but we have to get one stable leg for her to be able to function. then after the left leg heals we will be moving on to the left leg. Sammie is a gentle loving dog who only wants to please and play like a puppy should. Even though this is a stressful hard time for my husband and I we couldn't have asked for a sweeter dog."
At this point, Sammie needs surgery to repair her ACL's (anterior cruciate ligaments) in both hind legs. She is unable to walk and drags her legs behind her to get around. I know from experience that when my Dexter Jaymz tore the ACL in his right hind leg he was unable to use it at all, so I can't imagine what Sammie and her family must be going through. The total needed to repair both of her torn ACLs is $2,330. Please share Sammie's story and help us get her back on her feet!
