As a population that suffers disproportionately from mental health issues, familial ostracization, and suicide risk, the LGBTQ+ community is in desperate need of tools to facilitate wellbeing. And we know that time spent in nature has inherent mental and physical benefits.

Although nature is available to anyone, it can be difficult for queer individuals to access. Purchasing camping gear can be cost-prohibitive and, getting into outdoor activities can be daunting for queer persons. There is limited queer representation in the outdoor community, and because of the current political climate individuals may not feel safe venturing into rural areas in the southeast. 

Our goal is to help members of the LGBTQ+ community to overcome the obstacles that keep them from fully accessing the benefits that nature has to offer. In order to do so, we will provide supplies and transportation for guided outdoor adventures.  In conjunction with these outdoor activities, participants will have access to a variety of wellness related activities such as yoga, meditation, art therapy, skills workshops, and group sessions.  

Your support will allow us to do so! With your donations we will be able to purchase food and supplies for our very first hiking and camping trips, offer reimbursements for gas, pay our instructors (all of whom are queer), and fund general operations. (It may not be as glamorous, but we do still have to purchase insurance, pay for software and a website, buy office supplies, etc.)
