Hello

My name is Mr Buttons. I used to be a breeding rabbit. My life wasn’t nice before I came to Helicopter Ears. In my previous home, at the breeder’s, my accommodation was too small for me to even sit in, let alone to stand up in. In my senior age, I came to the rescue because I had a large dental abscess that my breeder could not afford to fix. There were other things wrong with me too. For instance, I smelt foul, my coat was a mess, my claws were longer than my paws, I was covered in mites, I had sore feet… I couldn’t move very well, and the rescue people put it down to my previous confinement and the lack of exercise. But with all the movement and space that I have here, my legs have been getting worse. I am taking medicines twice a day to help me, but lately even my medicines have been less effective.

I have never been able to sit on my hocks to wash my face in my young age, and in my old age, my legs are too sore for it. In the video I uploaded, you can see how I have to use a cushion to wash myself every time.

I am hoping to raise enough to cover my acupuncture assessment and the first session. I heard wonderful things about it helping other bunnies with similar problems, and I’d like to try it. If you can help towards it, even a little, any amount would be very useful. My first session and assessment is on Monday 27 July. I hope it helps me and maybe I can sit up again or just be a little less sore.
