Ed the Corgi needs help!
Pals, I'd like to share a very special story about a very special little Corgi girl. Ed is a 2 year old Corgi girl that has suffered from bladder infections for her entire life. Cowboy Bebop fans will recognize the reason for a girl having the name Ed. In this popular anime (Japanese cartoon) Edward's sidekick is none other than the famous animated Corgi Ein! Corgi Mom Megan was kind enough to share her Ed's story with me, and now I share it with you:
"Hello, my name is Megan. My corgi is named Ed and she is 2 years old. Ed has had constant bladder infections. The vet decided it was time to find the cause. He did an x-ray and an ultra-sound. He discovered a polyp on the lining of her bladder. She went into surgery on February 28th to remove the polyp and test if for cancer. While doing the surgery, her bladder ruptured. She was in critical condition but they managed to stabilize her. Her bladder wall is very weak and thin and they had to re-build the uterine tissue in order to get the bladder closed off. She is still at the hospital. He says if she can pull through the next few days, she will need more surgery.
I visited her on March 2nd and they said based on her status from the last 12 hours, she will make it through this. I am so overjoyed. The thought of losing her was terrifying. She is going to be there for another week and has one more surgery to go. I had to put a $5,000 deposit down for the original surgery. After the bladder rupture the costs have sky-rocketed which is why I've reached out for help.
I am doing my student teaching (basically 4 months of unpaid teaching). I do not currently have an income and have no way to pay her medical bills. Anything CorgiPals can do to help would be greatly appreciated."
What a terrible thing for such a young, beautiful girl to go through. Let's rally together and get little Ed the help she needs to feel better soon!
