Help Save Red Cliff’s Historic Old Town Hall & Firehouse!
The Old Town Hall & Firehouse has stood at the heart of Red Cliff for over a century, was the place of Eagle County's first County Seat and played a significant role in Colorado's early history, but time has taken its toll. Now, this beloved landmark is at risk of being lost forever.
Our mission is to preserve, restore, and revitalize this historic building so it can once again serve our community. With your help, we can repair the structure, restore its original character, and bring it back into public use.
🏗 Goal: Raise $1.5 million (through grants and
fundraising) for urgent repairs and restoration
🏛
Impact: Save a piece of Colorado’s history and create
a vibrant community space

What We’ve Accomplished So Far
Thanks to the dedication of our community and preservation advocates, we’ve made incredible progress in our mission to save Red Cliff’s Old Town Hall & Firehouse:
✅ Recognized as One of Colorado’s Most Endangered Places – In 2024, our nomination was accepted by Colorado Preservation, Inc., bringing statewide attention to our cause. This recognition increases our chances of securing preservation funding. ✅ Secured Initial Assessments – Structural engineers and preservation experts have evaluated the building and outlined critical repairs needed to stabilize and restore it. Their reports confirm that while the building is in urgent need of repair, it is restorable with the right funding. ✅ Gained Strong Community & Media Support – Our project has been featured on Colorado Public Radio, CBS, Fox 21 News, The Denver Post, and Westward, to name a few, helping us build momentum and rally supporters across Colorado. ✅ Launched Fundraising & Grant Efforts – While grants for a project like this are limited, we are actively applying for preservation grants and community development funding. However, we need community support to close the funding gap and make this restoration possible. | Timeline of Key Milestones:📌 2011 – Community discussions began on the urgent need to save the Old Town Hall & Firehouse. Historical Structural Assessment completed. 📌 2022 – Community discussions reignited and began on the urgent need to save the Old Town Hall & Firehouse. Historical Structural Assessment updated. 📌 2023 – Awarded Brownsfield Phase 1 grant through CDPHE. 📌 2024 – Successfully listed on Colorado’s Most Endangered Places through CPI. 📌 Early 2025 – Launched crowdfunding and fundraising efforts to leverage media attention and community support. 📌 Upcoming – Initial stabilization work (once funding is secured), and full restoration planning. We couldn’t have come this far without passionate supporters like you! Your contribution directly funds structural stabilization, historic restoration, and the future revival of this iconic building. | ![]() |
