Camp Meeting has been an important part of Adventist culture since the 1800's when the Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded. The Northern New England Conference has kept the tradition of having it in a large tent even while other conferences have moved theirs inside. The difficulty with having a tent camp meeting is the cost. There are 2 choices. Rent or own. We have traditionally decided to own. It allows greater freedom of when it is setup and how long it stays setup.

We believe the current tent for our main meetings was purchased in 1983 which means that it is almost 40 years old. It has holes in multiple places, the seams are coming apart, and it is simply ready for retirement.

The tent was purchased in 1983 for $21,600 (with inflation = $58,900). A new one costs $80,000. Prior to Camp Meeting 2021 we had fundraised $8,893. During and after Camp Meeting, we raised another $1,180. That puts our total amount raised at $10,073. This amount is included in this online report.
