2021 Holy Cross Community Walk to Benefit the Holy Cross Community Center

For over 40 years, the Holy Cross Community Center has served as a beacon of togetherness for many groups and events in our community: youth athletics; GOYA, JOY; HOPE; Girl Scouts; Boy Scouts; Holy Cross Ladies Philoptochos; Men’s Basketball League; Maids of Athena; DGK Parochial day school; Greek Afternoon School; many Hellenic cultural activities; the much beloved Sunday with Santa community event hosted by the Greek Afternoon School; and the Hellenic Cultural Festival— just to name a few. With your help and generosity, we can keep this list growing.

The 2021 Holy Cross Community Walk is to raising funds to support the many operating costs associated with keeping the Community Center open and available to all of the youth, adolescent and community groups who need it. By giving to this campaign you are helping us advance our athletic, social and Hellenic cultural programming at the Community Center.

$30,000 Fundraising Goal

Our $30,000 fundraising goal is to maintain and (hopefully) expand our operational capacity for the Holy Cross Community Center in the coming year. When COVID-19 shuttered schools, community centers and churches in March 2020, it also shuttered our ability to adequately fund raise for the Community Center through our longest standing events like the Hellenic Cultural Festival and Easter week services. Though our doors remain open, we want to prepare for the upcoming 2021-2022 fiscal year— and meeting our $30,000 fund raising goal will help us do that.

12:00 PM - REGISTRATION: directly following church services (8401 Ridge Boulevard).

1:00 PM - WALK BEGINS

*limited participants
*face masks & hand sanitizer will be available

REGISTERED participants (adults and children) who attend the Holy Cross Community Walk on May 16 will receive: a t-shirt, 1 bottle of water, and a walk-thon badge (which we know our Scouts will appreciate). Children will also receive a small snack.
