This is a Community Based effort involving several Civic Leagues, Partners and Friends to have a Dog Park in Northside Park. We need Volunteers and Support!! Please help us make this an Asset to the surrounding neighborhoods and give our pups a safe place to play.

We provide:

• Local dog owners with a comfortable, inviting, relaxing and safe environment that is healthy, safe and fun for their dogs. North Norfolk has a large military population many who live in housing that may not have enough yard space or a suitable yard for a dog to play and currently have to pack up their dogs and drive several miles to the nearest dog park. This will be the only large and small dog park in this section of the city currently.
• Residents in our surrounding community (Northside Park, North Norfolk, Norfolk writ large) with a dog park that puts a city open space to its best use in a family-friendly atmosphere and encourages continued use of this 64-acre space.
• Local businesses with opportunities to increase their revenue and social capital; There is A pet-friendly non-profit Coffee Shop across the street.
• It allows dogs to socialize with other dogs.
• It allows owners a chance to be physically active with their pets.
• The availability of dog parks is especially popular among Millennials (94 percent) and Gen Xers (92 percent) followed by Baby Boomers (89 percent) who agree dog parks provide benefits to communities and pets.
