Emergency help is needed: This little pup, along with her two
siblings, came into SoCo Rescue a few days ago while I was in New Jersey.
Overnight, this little girl developed a swelling on top of and
inside her head. The swelling feels mushy, which means there is some
sort of fluid inside her head.
I've sent pictures of this pup to our vet who seems to think
that this may be a hematoma or abscess. There are two small scars on
the top of her head, one of them is visible in this picture and
located between her eyes.
Left untreated, the swelling will cause pressure to her brain,
most likely resulting in death. Due to other recent emergency vet care
that we've experienced (Brandi's infection), we have to have the money
available, up front, to treat this little girl and save her life. The
estimated cost of her vet care will be between $250-300.
To complicate this matter even more, this little girl looks
like my former 7 year old American Bulldog, Bailey, who passed away
unexpectedly while I was in NJ last Oct. The strong resemblance to
Bailey, even tho this is just a pup, is really weighing heavy on my emotions.
To be perfectly honest, SoCo Rescue does not have the funds
available to treat this little girl. I am begging that either another
rescue group will take her in in and give her the vet care she needs
or that some kind person(s) make a donation to help us save her life.
