For us, to be the owners and
operators of Innercity Ski Rental, a family owned and operated
business in one of the communities we grew up in, has been a dream
come true. And it is my hope that we can continue living out our
dream and it doesn’t become another dream deferred.
What our needs are:
1. In order to operate this season we must obtain an insurance policy that covers all losses. That policy must be paid in full, before the start of the season
2. We are in need of repairing 3 Ski(s) to have them ready for the season
3. update inventory and equipment
How we Started:
The dream began when we were
looking for an opportunity and was introduced to the ski rental
business. Calvin met his buddy for lunch one day, to discuss
logistics and to come up with a plan. We sold our home, took what
equity we had and launched our business.
It became our mission to find a
way, to bring affordable ski rentals to Stockton. Giving families an
opportunity, That didn't break the bank.
And that’s how we became owners of
Innercity Ski Rental.
Our family, friends and supporters have watched us build and grow over the last three years, and we’ve seen that it is very possible to own business in these times with the support of your community . And not just any business—one that offers value, is affordable and a business where you are treated like family.
We are the only Ski Rental in Stockton, and the only Minority-owned. We are one of a kind. Innercity Ski Rental was built with a passion and infused with a desire to "Make family fun on the water affordable" One ski rental at a time. It is a community business that has inspired many, and has given much.

Why we need your help:
We were having such success
building our business and then all of a sudden the pandemic hit and
put us in a position where we were struggling to maintain the
business needed to keep us going. We were declined
for the California relief grant, Sba grants and loans. and forced to
subsides our business ourselves. With government mandates, fear and
low water levels surrounding the valley. The wild fires and about
75% business lost, our business suffered.
Added by what seemed like "if
it could go wrong, it did" with a total of three skis wracked
and two skis & a trailer stolen (Which we were not compensated
for) due to what the insurance company called "Suspicious
circumstances". The lack of respect and integrity, regarding
our skis was heartbreaking (we are currently in small claims
litigating 3 cases) we've been dropped by two different insurance
companies. And then you add the rising cost on Storage, insurance,
Repair(s) and inventory. Normally in the fall, during the off season
we are able to sell of outdated inventory and sustain our business
during the off season;because the bills don't stop. Unfortunately we
did not have that opportunity with the death of Calvins mom, and
needing some time off.
So as we get ready for the
upcoming season we are asking of your help.
