As you may know, I swim for First Colony Swim Team. We hold one major fundraiser each year to help provide additional financial support for my team. This is my way of helping make FCST the best swimming program in the country. Here are some of our achievements this past year:

• WON 2019 8 & Under Spring Championships
• WON 2019 Gulf Champs II
• Placed 12th at Long Course TAGS, with one individual state champion and one state champion relay (which was also the top ranked 13-14 boys relay in the nation!)
• Placed 13th at Short Course TAGS, with one individual state champion and three state champion relays
• 20 of our senior swimmers participated in national level meets
• Qualified 3 swimmers for the 2018 USA Swimming Winter Junior Nationals
• 1 swimmer received USA Swimming’s Academic All-American Award
• 4 graduating seniors who earned athletic scholarships at NCAA Division I programs
• 4 swimmers named to 2019 Southern Zone Select Camp
• 6 new Gulf Swimming records
• 24 new team records

This kind of success is a credit to every swimmer, parent, coach, and supporter of FCST. As a nonprofit organization, financial support from people like you directly funds this level of competitive swimming. Here are just a few things I benefit from as a member of First Colony Swim Team: 

1. I have the privilege of using some of the finest aquatic facilities in Houston. 
2. I have professional coaches who have dedicated themselves to helping me achieve my goals in the water, as well as in life.
3. I have parents who sacrifice their time to drive me to practice, sometimes twice a day. They are willing to wash extra loads of towels. They continue to fall for the line, “timing offers the best seat in the house”. They don’t mind buying goggles when I lose mine for the umpteenth time. They take great pleasure in it all, so that I will reap the benefits associated with year-round swimming.
4. I have friends and family who try to remember that the tenth of a second that I shaved off my time is well worth losing their voice over. To them, swimming is the most exciting sport for that short time I am racing!
