We run a UK registered charity in Cyprus called 'Love Cyprus Dog Rescue'
On the 28th April I was alerted to what we first though was an injured puppy that had been dumped in a field. When we arrived to collect him we thought he was dying as his was completely limp as my husband picked him up and carried him to the car.
We were really concerned as he'd been laid out in the hot sun and was suffering from dehydration. When we took him to the vet he was very dehydrated, has flea's and ticks, fur missing on his ears, ear mites, anaplasma ( a tick-borne disease caused by the infectious bacterial organism), sores and cuts that were infected in his feet and grade 4 luxating patella so was in a lot of pain!
As you can imagine we have had to have blood tests, x-rays, ear drops, vaccinations, antibiotics, pain killers etc etc and have already spent a lot on this little chap! This is were we need your help as we simply cannot afford to be able to pay all his vet fee's as we need to raise 700GBP to pay for his operation on his leg and then follow ups after and possibly some physiotherapy!
He's only approx 1 and a half years old and without this op he will continue to get worse and severe arthritis will start. The person who owned him just left him like this and he's been suffering for months on end with no treatment so we need your help to help make his life better!
So basically Dinky has a leg deformity which has caused his kneecap to protrude outwards and because of this it has twisted his bone and muscle around therefore he needs two surgeries one being ‘Tibial tuberosity transposition’ which is a corrective surgery to secure the patellar (kneecap) tendon into the trochlear groove and the other is Distal femoral osteotomy surgery where the bone will need to be cut so it can be realigned. A plate will be inserted into his leg and hopefully Dinky will then be able to carry out a pain free life and be able to run and play like any other dog.
Please help Dinky as he deserves this chance in life after all he's been through Xxx
