On behalf of the Zimbabwe Pensioner Supporter Fund and our 1450 pensioners we are currently supporting I would like to thank you all once again for your wonderful support over the past year. A big thank you to our monthly donors, it is a relief to know that we can count on you. To our once-off and anonymous donor’s thank you, your open hearts continue to amaze us! The ZPSF would never be able to sustain our regular supply of relief parcels if it were not for donations and support such as yours.
Throughout Zimbabwe the Funds trucks are well known, and they seldom get stopped but thanked for the work they are doing and waved on. However, it’s the pure gratitude of our “Golden Oldies” that makes it so worthwhile. They are so very grateful for all they receive, their average age must be around 80 and although food and other goods are readily available in prices that are beyond their means and they don’t have access to forex or cash.
We have also painfully heard how folk whom we had not known of, budget carefully for…… wait for it, two to three meals a week. A tin of sardines will be stretched to do a family of two, at least three meals each with putu, pumpkin leaves and onion. The same went for corned beef, and still they would greet you with a smile and a firm handshake, not whining about their situation but asking after your welfare. Real men and women of valor!!

Who knows… of the work that goes into packing a food box.
Who knows… how hard all the staff worked.
Who knows… or saw the trucks going to the different towns.
Who knows… of all the hard work that goes into packing the big trucks.
Who knows… of how many hours of driving can make you so physically tired.
Who has seen the look on someone’s face, who receives a box…
Who puts his hand on the box and says “Thank you Lord”
I just want to thank ALL of you for helping us here in Zimbabwe. Myself and another pensioner, Harry Wardley, deliver the boxes to the pensioners here in Masvingo.
What a privilege to witness the smiles on faces, when they sigh.. whew.. our box is in sight!! God also sees those smiling faces full of gratitude.

The main message we receive and are asked is to pass on to all who have donated or assisted in one way or another is a Great Big Thank You, and to them, the pensioners, every time the truck arrives and they see the food parcels marked with their names on it, that they have not been forgotten and that there are still people out there who care and think about them. Just seeing their names on the boxes and knowing that someone cares, helps them to fight their daily struggle for survival with a sense of pride.
Once again, we say to you, our faithful donors, sponsors and general friends of the ZPSF, God bless you, for the way you help to keep the “spirit light” of those old folk burning as they enjoy our visits which you make possible. We are reminded of a grandfather clock, it has many intricate gears and bits, some seemingly insignificant but without which that elegant timepiece cannot keep time, year in and year out. We together are that magnificent collection of spindles, dials, gears springs and numbers which move the hands that keeps us all going and on time as it rings out the chimes of time. It touches one’s heartstrings to see the change in countenance when the goods are handed out. Thank you for your care, love and generosity. May our lord continue to rain down His Blessings on you all.
