The American Rescue Workers Canton Corps is in a full-on revitalization mode, and we are increasing our fund raising efforts to ensure that we can continue to meet needs in our community and allow for expansion in 2014! We are making some needed changes! More ...
The American Rescue Workers Canton Corps has been diligently working on new fund raisers since 2012. Some have been slightly successful, and others have not yielded the results we had hoped. While we are still plugging along, we are in dire straights financially and taking all measures possible to get our revenue increased. Please do whatever you can to assist us in this endeavor. All donations are tax deductible.

There are three primary components in this fund raising effort. They include the following:

1) My Father's House Program -- The inclusion of an ongoing discipleship program to the American Rescue Workers' homeless assistance structure. Supplies are needed for this voluntary program for current and past residents. Materials are changed periodically, and men are provided with journals, books and materials free of charge. Right now they are working on Game Plan for Life, a series designed and donated by Joe Gibbs. If you could help with the donating materials or funds for these kinds of supplies, please contact us. All donations are tax-deductible!

2) Hope Shelter and New Life Center -- The American Rescue Workers Canton Corps operates two housing facilities. As of 2014, plans are for the Hope Shelter to become part of the Homeless Crisis Response Program, providing 90-day stays to 15 individual men per night. The New Life Center will remain a transitional housing arrangement, providing 10 men stay for up to 2 years at $50 per week. Additional funds are needed to cover expenses, repairs, upgrades, operations, food, toiletries, and more for the homeless people being served. Please give what you can.

3) Warehouse Clearance -- Our warehouse is full and running over! So is our Thrift Store located at 923 5th Street NE in Canton. We are in the process of liquidated the entire building in the next few months. This will mean additional scrap and landfill runs along with tremendous sales in the store. Shop now to see what we have and shop later to see what we get! Store hours are Tuesday thru Friday, 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. Your donations can help us with the expenses of the operations and the disposal of recyclables. All revenue generated from the industrial side support the shelters. Please Thrift Shop!

Our comprehensive total for fundraising here is $100,000. That is a great deal of money, especially in these uncertain economic times. Whatever you can do to help is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. Please consider making a donation to one or all areas. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you.
