2024 Battle of the Businesses - Supporting Special Olympics of Greater Dayton!
Battle of the Businesses is the primary fundraiser for Special Olympics of Greater Dayton. "Battle" teams represent Dayton area businesses who compete against each other in 13 coed sporting events over the course of eight days for the coveted Overall Battle Winner Trophy. As part of the "Battle", teams raise money for Special Olympics of Greater Dayton. The 2024 Battle will be held from June 1st - June 8th.
Special Olympics of Greater Dayton is part of the global inclusion movement using the power of sports, health education, and leadership programs to empower people with intellectual disabilities. Through Special Olympics, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths, abilities, skills and success. Our athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment -- on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential. Special Olympics focus is as follows:
- Changing Attitudes– Special Olympics is the leading voice in raising awareness about the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities.
- Real Sports– Sports is a powerful force. It can shift the focus from disability to ability, from isolation to involvement.
- Building Communities– Special Olympics works to spread compassion and acceptance in a way that can unite the world. Our goal is to awaken everyone -- and every community -- to each person’s common humanity.
- Healthier Athletes– Special Olympics is also the world's largest public health organization for people with intellectual disabilities.
- Athlete Leadership– Through sports training and competitions, Special Olympics helps people with intellectual disabilities achieve joy, acceptance and success. Our Athlete Leadership Programs can take athletes even farther -- as leaders and spokespeople respected in their communities.
