DMR Move hasn't added a story.
Despite our locally owned small business growing and serving more people than ever, we find ourselves at a point of crisis due to our external billing company's failure to fulfill its contractual obligations and the many catastrophic errors on their part.
While we work at correcting this crisis, we are in need of your support to continue providing vital, life-changing services in our community. Whatever support we receive today, we plan to gift back to the non-profit community that supports those we serve when we recover!
Our Story
For the past five years, DMR Move has served as a sanctuary for individuals grappling with chronic pain, complex movement problems, and the devastating functional aftermath of trauma of all kinds. At DMR, we provide person-centered care that comprehensively supports individuals physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. We do this while ensuring that even those with limited financial means, including our Medicaid community, can access our essential services.
Our Impact
[Please watch our video above by hitting the play button on the picture collage!]
- We help reintegrate individuals into the workforce following debilitating injuries, even after long term disability.
- We provide multiple integrated therapies that have allowed countless individuals to avoid unnecessary surgeries and procedures.
- We empower those who have been marginalized and dismissed by traditional healthcare systems, educating and reassuring them that their suffering is neither imaginary nor insignificant.
- Clients have reported that the skills they learned at DMR helped them finally commit to seeking the care they needed for substance abuse and eating disorders, something they had previously struggled to do.
- We provide support and guidance to people transitioning away from dependency on opioids and other medications.
- Parents and teachers have applied the skills they have learned at DMR and shared them with the children in their care.
- The care and support DMR provides has inspired previous and current patients to partner with us for community-wide outreach to spread our message through our non-profit IOCH.
We are now facing a crisis that is threatening to close our doors and we need your help.
The Crisis at Hand
Despite our steady business growth and expanding community impact, we are now at the most challenging moment of our existence. Recent neglect and catastrophic errors by our external insurance billing company have caused our small, locally owned clinic over $100,000 in financial harm. This has left us struggling to stay operational as our financial obligations continue to mount daily. Even with our exhaustive efforts to hold the company accountable to correct their mistakes and improve their services, the company has not shown signs of fulfilling their contractual obligations and we may not be compensated for the thousands of hours of valuable patient care already provided.
Financial Objective & Expanded Support
At DMR, we champion being resourceful and resilient, in our patients, and in ourselves. In order to ensure the sustainability of our operations and continue serving a patient population in vital need of our services, we are moving forward with plans for all of our billing to be accomplished in-house. Your contribution is critical for covering urgent operating expenses threatening to close our doors. With your support we hope to reach our fundraising target of $50,000* which is needed for meeting our immediate financial obligations. Once recovered from this present crisis, all the funds raised from this campaign will be donated into the non-profit organization, the Institute of Contextual Health (IOCH) which is committed to advancing individualized healthcare frameworks and supporting the underserved community affected by chronic pain and complex movement disorders. (Please see more in the FAQ section about the non-profit IOCH).
Your support will:
- Empower us to sustain our heartfelt mission of providing unwavering care to every single one of our patients, including those grappling with financial hardships.
- Address our urgent financial obligations and ensure the sustainability of current operations during the transition to internal billing.
- Allocate funds to rectify billing errors and cover pending payments.
- Enable us to recover from this crisis and then donate all the funds raised in this campaign back to the IOCH.
*This number is based on a worst-case scenario; our actual needs may be less. In such a case, we will donate any unused or excess funds immediately to the non-profit organization IOCH.

Your contribution will make a significant difference in keeping our facility operational and forwarding the cause of personalized and compassionate healthcare.
Please help us to continue to inspire hope and promote growth!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the purpose of this crowdfunding campaign?
The purpose is to rescue our locally owned small business healthcare facility, DMR Move, from financial distress caused by billing neglect and errors at the hands of our soon-to-be-former external billing organization. Despite three months of efforts to work with the external organization to rectify their errors and neglect, we have run out of financial resources to cover the income losses for which they are responsible, losses that we have since learned began in April. We need to raise $50,000 to bring our insurance billing in-house and cover urgent financial obligations.
What will my contribution be used for?
Your contribution will help us transition our billing operations in-house, correct billing errors and neglect, cover pending payments, and maintain daily operations during this crisis.
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
No, as we are a private healthcare facility, your contribution is not tax-deductible. However, your contribution will have a lasting impact on the community we serve. You do have the option to directly donate to the Institute of Contextual Health (IOCH) and this donation would be tax-deductible as they are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. To learn more about how you can support the IOCH directly, please visit their website or contact them at info@contextualhealth.org.
What happens if you exceed the fundraising goal?
Any funds exceeding the target of $50,000 will be donated to the Institute of Contextual Health (IOCH), a non-profit organization committed to advancing individualized healthcare and supporting the underserved community affected by chronic pain and complex movement problems. Also, once we have stabilized our billing losses and can maintain operations, we will use a percentage of our future profits over time to match the amount raised by this fundraising campaign and donate it to the non-profit organization, the Institute of Contextual Health (IOCH).
What services does DMR provide?
DMR specializes in treating chronic pain, complex movement problems, and the functional effects of trauma, including motor vehicle accidents and other accidents. We use a unique approach called the Human Rehabilitation Framework (HRF).
What will happen if you don't reach your fundraising goal?
If we don't reach our fundraising target, we may face operational challenges that could limit the services we offer and affect the patients and community relying on us for healthcare.
