My name is Luis Ernesto, I'm 24 and studying biology
I was diagnosed in February 2010 with a type of cancer called non-seminomatous germ cell tumor, which at diagnosis was stage IV, this means that the disease was spread all over my body, including lymph nodes, liver and lung so it was necessary to initiate chemotherapy, there it all started.
They finished the first chemotherapies and oncologists recommended me a bone marrow transplant, a fairly high procedure costs, the same year I underwent a second transplant with only three months apart, then my family would have been impossible to pay my treatment by the economic conditions in which we were. Then I had various surgeries and radiation to try to kill any remaining disease. The following year I returned to undergo two surgeries liver.

I was in remission and was able to return to college knowing my area of interest would be research and in particular lung cancer. Everything was going great, until September 2013 where one of the studies came altered, this indicated a relapse doctors restart with a new chemotherapy treatment and now am awaiting my third bone marrow transplant, a story very difficult.
I consider myself very fortunate to have gone through all this and learning from, my greatest motivation to continue my studies are to work in cancer research and put my two cents to eradicate the disease.
