Meet Kismet, she is a dog I pulled from our local shelter with her 6 newborn puppies. She has an old injury to her spine, hip, pelvis and leg that has caused her to be completely incontinent. She is also heartworm positive and is currently being treated for a urinary tract infection and intestinal parasites. She needs an evaluation by a specialist to determine if she is a candidate for surgical repair for her spinal injuries causing the incontinence, possible leg amputation and spay.

Kismet it appears was severely injured in her former owners home, and they never bothered to take her to a vet. She suffered a broken hip, pelvis, leg and lumbar #7 break roughly a year ago, which have left her completely incontinent. As a result she still had a badly healed hip and pelvis area that is pinching a nerve in Kismet's Sciatica! This means she can't feel when she has to potty and has some movement range issues currently. She can walk, run and even climb stairs!

kismet is a relatively happy SWEET girl who SURVIVED all this. She had to be in severe pain for MONTHS and then to endure a male dog rutting on her with a broken, healing pelvis as well? Then to have to then birth her puppies through those hips? The vet said it was a miracle she survived that and was able to then care for her babies.

This is ONE AMAZING DOG!!!!!
I can't even imagine surviving that let alone being as sweet as she still is.

I can't imagine what this baby has suffered and the vet recommends euthanasia because of the extent of damage. The first vet didn't feel surgical correction is possible, but I had to go for a second opinion and I have heard of this being repaired. Its not going to be easy and it's going to be expensive!

AARF is Kismet's rescue and we are 501c3 so ANYTHING .. ANY Amount you donate is Tax deductible.

Please help this WONDERFUL mother!!!
