Please Help Kenyan Happy Days Orphanage
Please help me support the Happy Days Orphanage by making a donation through my page. I am really determined to support this orphanage through Lift the Children and assist in providing basic care to its children for the upcoming year. I plan to visit Kenya with the Lift the Children foundation in the near future to see first hand the state of this and many other orphanages in the area.
I am willing to do whatever it takes to reach this goal...washing cars, cooking dinners, wearing a dress in public...literally anything in return for donations (within reason and legalities) to sponsor this orphanage. Happy Days Children Centre is an orphanage in Ngong District, Nairobi, Kenya. They are funded by Lift The Children.
Founders/Director
Rose Mungai dreamed of opening a children’s orphanage to rescue children in need. She strives to help the orphaned, destitute and abused children by providing them a safe shelter within a home environment.
The Current Centre
Happy Days Children Centre has a three bedroom house, an outside toilet and a large outdoor area for the children to play. An additional stone house and kitchen are currently being built.
Source of their Funding
Lift the Children is currently their only source of ongoing support. They also receive income from farming and on occasion from the children.
Areas of Endeavor
The children all attend primary schools and are given a packed lunch to bring with them everyday. Outside of school they are taught about farming and help with taking care of the animals. They attend church and are taken to the catholic hospital in Kiserian whenever medical support is needed.
Present Challenges
Financial assistance is their greatest challenge. They need money to complete their renovations, pay the salaries of workers, help with medical costs and to provide the children with food, clothes and bedding.
