Marcy made an impact on this earth during her short life that will not be forgotten. She attended St. Andrew Lutheran Church & School from 1969 to 1978. Marcy moved to North Carolina with her husband Ed in 1994 and quickly became a registered nurse. She eventually chose the rewarding practice of teaching peritoneal dialysis to dozens of patients with chronic kidney failure. She was a strong advocate for organ donation and was able to give the gift of life to two Charlotte area mothers on September 19, 2009. During their 15 years of marriage, Marcy always beamed when she reminisced about St. Andrew, constantly sharing new and often familiar stories of her childhood experiences there. One of the most befitting tributes to her is giving students the opportunity for an enriching education, steeped in the same values and beliefs Marcy was taught and was so proud of. For that reason, the Marsha Nash Maciejewski Scholarship Foundation is established in her memory. The scholarship is a grant for 50% of the tuition paid through the entire school year, benefitting those families who have the most financial hardship and need. Marcy was truly a blessing to all who were fortunate enough cross paths with her, let alone know her personally. Although the world seems to be a smaller place without her, Marcy’s spirit continues to live on through the countless lives she touched.
