Friends: It’s been an incredible year. 

With your support, we’ve remained at camp since August of 2020. We have been the last defense, standing between industry and our irreplaceable ancient forests. We’ve set a legal precedent in the Supreme Court, with implications for land defenders and civil rights across Canada. As a movement of people, we’ve made sure that old growth protection and Indigenous sovereignty have remained in the news and at the doors of the legislature.

For making sure we had tents and walkie talkies, food and supplies. 

For keeping our legal team strong, through the past year and for the battles ahead. 

For showing up, in all the ways you did, with resources and care.

 As we move into the winter months, we have one more ask for our community. 

Many people were fined, or had property stolen, damaged, or missing, mostly due to the lawless actions of the RCMP and industry. Core forest defenders are still in the woods, keeping an eye on industry and protecting the earth and water. Many incurred debts, lost jobs and sustained injuries and PTSD. We want to continue to support the long haulers in their aftercare and ongoing struggle. 

We’re asking you to help us do that until spring. We’ve already reimbursed tens of thousands of dollars for lost/stolen property, and the movement is supporting dozens of people, but we need your help to do more. 

We’ve set a goal of 40K in 30 days to make sure that long haul forest protectors are taken care of as this incredible year of activism comes to an end. 

They’ve given so much for the benefit of us all. Let’s show them their sacrifice matters.
