Tragedy orphaned these puppies, but thanks to a good Samaritan and the Phelps County Animal Welfare League they are safe and thriving. Please read on to discover their story and how you can help.

On March 10, 2014 tragedy struck in Rolla, MO when a box with a mother dog and eight puppies was dumped on the side of the road near a truck stop.  The box of puppies was struck by a passing truck and to the devastation of all the mother dog and six puppies were killed.  The truck driver who was shaken and in shock by the incident hailed a passing motorist for help.

Fortunately, this good Samaritan took in the two remaining puppies and called the Phelps County Animal Welfare League (PCAWL) for help.  Thanks to her assistance, PCAWL was able to place the remaining puppies in a foster home where they are receiving around the clock care and proper veterinary treatment.

Thanks to the love and caring of one good Samaritan these puppies were given a chance for all the love and happiness that all puppies deserve.  But now we can all be good Samaritans and help PCAWL continue their mission to insure the welfare of animals in our community.  Please help us to help them!
