Marley was taken to Veterinary Referral Hospital of Hickory on 1/10/14 for a back problem and unable to use his back legs. He had been treated with medications several times for his back and they have worked in the past but not this time. He needed emergency surgery to fix this but the owner said she is monetarily, mentally, and physically drained and opted to euthanize him. Angie who works there called and asked if we could help. After finding a few supporters we were able to take him on and transferred him to Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, NC where he had a hemilaminectomy surgery by Dr. Bergman about 5am on 1/11/14. Dr. Bergman said the disc was very bad and he had a lot of bruising but we are holding out hope that he will have a full recovery. The quote for this surgery is $4,500-5,500 and we are in desperate need of donations for Marley.
We are a 501c3 rescue and donations are tax deductible.
