Thank you for your generosity in making a donation in memory of Dr. James L. Miller Jr. (Jerry Miller)! He had Alzheimer's Disease and donated his precious brain to help others.

A confirmed diagnosis is only possible through brain donation.  Amazingly, an “Alzheimer’s Disease” diagnosis is only right 50% of the time.  So, with a coin toss, we laypeople have as good a chance of an accurate diagnosis of someone with Alzheimer’s Disease!

Our non-profit organization, Brain Support Network, advocates for brain donation for two key reasons.  First, it is the only way to confirm a neurological diagnosis.  A confirmed diagnosis is of great interest to the Miller family.  Second, the donation of brain tissue enables medical research into both Alzheimer’s Disease (the clinical diagnosis) and whatever neurodegenerative disorder(s) Dr. Miller is found to have had.  (Chances are quite high that researchers will find multiple neurological disorders, not just one.)   

Dr. Miller's precious brain was donated by his children to the Mayo Clinic.  His family will benefit from a confirmed diagnosis, and we all benefit given the medical research such a gift enables.  Brain donation is the key to finding a cause, treatment, and cure for neurological disorders.
