The first time I ever connected with another young adult with hearing loss was when I was 32 years old at a convention in Reno, Nevada in 2008, hosted by the Hearing Loss Association of America

I want other young adults with hearing loss in their teens and twenties to experience that kind of liberating moment, the life-long connections, and the camaraderie that this convention afforded me, but at a younger age.

The next convention is in Portland, Oregon on June 27-30, 2013.
For more information on Convention 2013, visit http://hearingloss.org

A group of young adults with hearing loss started an initiative, called '100 Portland,' to bring together 100 young adults to this convention.
For more details, visit the 100 Portland Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/100Portland/.

Many young adults are not able to afford the costs associated with attending conventions; therefore, they will miss out on many life-defining moments. Such costs include convention registrations, travel, and lodging.

Please help me raise money for this great cause, so that other young adults with hearing loss may share the experiences that I have gained.

100% of the funds will go towards the 100 Portland initiative. The Hearing Loss Association of America is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3), charitable organization.
