A Modern Circus Premiere Celebrating the Cultures of Texas and Mexico
Entre Dos Cielos is a new multidisciplinary performance born from a collaboration that spans borders, cultures, and communities. Blending contemporary circus, dance, original music by Deadman , and visual storytelling, the work explores the connections between Texas and Mexico while celebrating the traditions that unite us.
The creative process began in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where the core artistic team developed the production during an artist residency at Centro Cultural Teopanzolco . There, internationally recognized Cirque du Soleil choreographer Edgar Zendejas collaborated with Cirque Vida , Deadman , and a team of artists from both sides of the border to create an original work inspired by shared heritage, migration, resilience, and belonging.
From Mexico, the project returns home to Lockhart, Texas , where Entre Dos Cielos will make its world premiere. In partnership with Lockhart ISD , the production will feature the Lockhart High School Mariachi Program , giving local students the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside professional artists in a truly one-of-a-kind experience. This collaboration places young musicians at the heart of an international artistic exchange while showcasing the incredible talent that already exists in our community.
