I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of a young family that has been facing an extremely difficult situation for the past six months.

After the birth of their son, they began the process of obtaining his birth certificate and required legal documentation. Unfortunately, ongoing financial hardship has made completing this process incredibly challenging. Because they are currently outside the United States and unable to work legally as tourists, finding consistent income has been nearly impossible.

Over the past several months, they have exhausted their savings and depleted every resource available to them just trying to survive. They are now struggling to afford basic necessities, including food, transportation, and the costs associated with completing their son’s paperwork.

Like many families facing hardship, they have repeatedly tried to create income opportunities for themselves instead of relying on others. Unfortunately, several times they used their last available funds to purchase used appliances and equipment that were advertised as working, only to discover after purchase that they were broken or unusable. Each time, they hoped these items would help them generate income, prepare food, or improve their situation. Instead, they lost money they could not afford to lose.

Those setbacks have taken a serious toll. When every dollar matters, purchasing something that turns out to be broken can mean going without food, delaying paperwork, or falling further behind. They no longer have extra funds to take those risks, yet they still need reliable tools and basic necessities to move forward.

Despite these hardships, they have not given up. They continue searching for online work, pursuing opportunities, and doing everything within their power to improve their situation. They are not sitting still waiting for help. They are actively trying to build a path forward, but after months of setbacks they have reached a point where they need support from others to make it through this difficult season.

Many people may wonder why they do not simply return to the United States. The reality is that they cannot leave until their son’s documentation process is completed. Without the funds needed to finish the paperwork and cover essential living expenses, they remain stuck in a cycle of survival.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to help provide 2 to 6 months of stability while they complete their son’s legal documentation, secure reliable income, and regain their footing. Funds raised will be used for essential living expenses, food, transportation, communication costs, documentation fees, and obtaining reliable necessities that can help them generate income and care for their family.

This is not a family looking for a handout. It is a family asking for the chance to catch their breath, complete their son’s paperwork, and finally move from survival mode toward stability.
