Akwaaba - Welcome!
Volunteers from Book-Cycle will be sending 50,000 books on a
wonderful adventure to Ghana in the spring. These books will be
distributed among many schools who have limited access to books or no
library facilities at all.
In July 24 volunteers will travel to Ashanti to build classrooms, distribute books, decorate dilapidated classrooms, construct shelving for libraries and visit a community of single mothers in Besease.
Volunteers will also collaborate with Enliven Mama Africa who work with a community of young single mothers by empowering them to thrive through small scale entrepreneurship. Currently 14 women are attending trade school with the hope of becoming self-sustainable. Book-Cycle would like to donate 10 manual sewing machines allowing more ladies to learn a trade to support their families.

Book-Cycle is a UK registered volunteer run charity. We're proud that the charity is run entirely on the efforts of individuals giving up their time just for the love of it!
So far we have sent more than 250,000 childrens books to schools
& orphanages worldwide allowing over 300 libraries to be built. In
the UK we run donation based bookshops allowing customers to have fair
access to books regardless of their financial means. Volunteers have
also worked with primary school children encouraging the reforestation
of England through tree planting projects.
This is a once in a lifetime chance for some of our volunteers
to see the tangible effect their volunteering has for communities overseas.

This eco-friendly seedling paper potter enables you to make biodegradable seedling pots by recycling your newspapers. Once your seedlings have hardened simply transfer them inside the paper pots into the ground. The roots are protected and the paper will just bio degrade.
