    My Name is Melissa with Starting Over Animal Refuge, inc . AKA Starting Over Ranch and I run a canine rescue organization. I am a 501c3 and our mission is to save lives. We also previously had a teen outreach program which Brittany the young girl pictured graduated from but continues to visit her love for horses which is also known as her "therapy". Foxy is her designated therapy/riding horse and we hope Foxy will continue to give this honor to other kids in need in the future but her life is on the line. Here's her Story! 

The Story

Foxy is a beautiful American Quarter Horse that was donated to Starting Over Ranch after 12yrs of a western pleasure show career . 5x state champion and 5x regional champion. and was hoped to be the next teen outreach horse . She came to us with unknown lameness causes. The farrier and vets at first thought it was her confirmation and angles. She was corrected with trimming and shoes and after a month of field rest she was riding again. She was enjoyed by a young teen girl that is a part of our teen outreach program but quickly became lame again. Foxy before coming here was a National Champion Western pleasure horse. Showing successfully and over the years made little girls dreams come true. She was previously prior to us diagnosed with founder and had rotation but we were unaware of this diagnose and had been missed by her previous owner. Had any of us known her treatment and management would of been much different . She has had one treatment of DMSO IV and is now on Ixosoprine and Bute. Our funds have RUN OUT due to having my own personal horse in emergency care and needing further extensive treatment and our rescue mission saving severely abused and abandoned dogs out of Dallas TX. Please help us save Foxy.

We currently have two needing emergency Founder treatment. This next item we would like to get donated will be used until needed then donated to a reputable equine rescue program afterwards .It's called the Ice Spa therapy boot. Designed for extended icing of the feet and legs for laminitis and tendon injuries.

Foxy was diagnosed by Performance Equine Hospital in Belleview, fl and will continue treatment with them or Doctor Jean White in Ocala, fl.
If funds cannot be raised promptly and her health declines then we will honor her quality of life and humanely euthanize her. Please help Save her life. Every Dollar Counts. Every SHARE counts.
