Echoing the possible sighting of an endangered animal in the Grand Canyon, several people south of Flagstaff reported another wolf-like creature

Has northern Arizona gone to the wolves?

Last week, there was a possible gray wolf spotted north of the Grand Canyon. Now we have reports of another wolf-like animal roaming a neighborhood south of Flagstaff. These separate incidents have many questioning whether wolves are making a comeback in Arizona.

"We were probably at about a dozen calls or so," said Shelly Shepherd with theArizona Game and Fish Department. "People that had called in said 'I think I saw it, I think I saw the wolf thing.'"

Reports poured in last week of a possible wolf roaming a neighborhood a few miles south of Flagstaff. Photos show the animal mere feet from neighborhood fences.

"He looked so much like a wolf that we couldn't determine if he was a wolf-dog or a true 100 percent wild wolf," said Michelle Ryan, executive director of the Coconino Humane Association.
