LuLu was rescued minutes before her scheduled euthanasia time from a high kill Animal Control facility Elizabethtown, North Carolina. LuLu was starved beyond belief, her body wrecked from too many litters and very little nutrition. This sweet girl pulled at our heartstrings and we knew we would be likely walking into a medical disaster. Lulu was taken straight to South Robeson veterinary clinic thanks to a wonderful volunteer and she was started on high protein food, medications and worming treatments and given one heck of a bath. On top of starvation poor LuLu turned out to be heartworm positive. Still very thin, she was brought to South Carolina to a fantastic foster home and was reevaluated by Dr. King at Spears Creek Veterinary Hospital. Our vet said she needed a few extra weeks to gain some much needed weight before beginning her treatment. In just two and a half weeks LuLu has gained 12 pounds! She is starting her heartworm treatment but we need your help to make it happen. It seems not many people are interested in fundraising for hounds but this is a special girl who deserves a forever home after a life time of neglect and abuse.
