We have been honored with a formal invitation to perform in the “70th Anniversary WWII-D-Day Memorial Parade and Musical Salute to the Veterans” ceremonies held in Normandy, France, June 6th, 2014. We would love to accept and pay tribute to our heroes!
Elite Energy is very honored and excited to have the opportunity to pay tribute to American and Allied troops who sacrificed so much to liberate France and ultimately restore freedom to Western Europe. Our 39 student singer/dancers along with a combo member and accompanying chaperons, will represent their schools, community, and our country during performances at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial on Omaha Beach, Luxembourg Gardens, and in the Sainte-Mere-Eglise "70th Anniversary WWII-D-Day Memorial Parade". During the week long activities beginning June 3, 2014, we will also visit historic World War II sites, Mont St. Michel, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre.
This trip is an amazing opportunity to connect our Elite Energy members to the heroic actions of WW II U.S. and Allied Troops during D-Day and discover why their stories should never be forgotten. Not only will our student performers gain an appreciation for the sacrifices that so many American and Allied troops gave seventy years ago, they will experience in-person, French culture and World History that will provide lifelong lessons to carry with them and share with others back home.
